With four edging lines and a heavy
slitter, we have the ability to slit a wide variety of
materials and then edge condition them. We can
process your metal, be it steel, brass, copper, aluminum
or other type quickly and correctly
Slitting
From .040" to .320" gauge material can be
slit here on our 24 inch machine. We can cut
widths as narrow as .440".
Edging
The edging process
involves putting steel under tremendous pressure to
remove the burr caused by slitting. This is done
for safety and cosmetic reasons. The shape of
the edge is controlled by passing the coil though a
die which creates the profile you desire.
Decambering and Shape
Correction
Ever have trouble with coils that arrive
cambered so badly that you cannot use them in process,
or that just didn't get slit right? You can try to
find someone that can use them and maybe make a little
bit more than scrap price on them, you can save yourself
the time and just toss the steel in the scrap bin or you
can call Security Steel Processing. Why would you
call us? At Security we can actually straighten
cambered coils. By running the steel through our
decambering machinery we can usually bring material back
within industry standards, and we can do this much
cheaper than the cost of buying new steel and paying to
slit it again! In addition we can probably fix
your steel faster than you can find new material and
have it processed. Typically we can handle .5" to
8" in width and .035 to .375 in gauge. Please call
and talk to someone here regarding your specific
application.

- At Security Steel Processing we operate
three machines that have the capability of cutting
flat bar from coil stock. These machines can
hold tolerances within the +.5" -.000 range and 95%
within .25". This can be combined with our
edging process to give a safe smooth surface for
handling and appearance at no additional cost.
We can cut bar in lengths from 36 inches to as long as
20 feet, all of it straight and flat.
